Nitrogen Products
KEYTRADE AG is one of the world’s most active traders of nitrogen fertilizers in both solid and liquid form. On an annualized basis, in 2010 the amount of nitrogen fertilizers traded totaled more than 1.5 million metric tons and represented approximately 50 percent of the total fertilizer traded by the company. The solid nitrogen fertilizers are shipped in bulk, bags or big bags and also in containers.
KEYTRADE ships product from multiple points of origin including the Former Soviet Union, Eastern and Western Europe, China, North Africa, the Arabian Gulf, the United States, China and Asia to an equally diverse range of destinations. The portfolio of products includes:
- Prilled urea Granular ureaAmmonium nitrate (AN)
- Stabilized ammonium nitrate (SAN)
- Calcium ammonium nitrate (CAN)
- Ammonium sulphate (AS)
- Urea ammonium nitrate (UAN) solution
- Anhydrous ammonia (NH3)
Some of these products are used for direct fertilizer application by farmers; others are used for several industrial purposes or as a nitrogen base for the production of blended or complex NPK fertilizers.
Starting in October 2007, KEYTRADE became the exclusive supplier of UAN solution imports into USA and Canada for CF Industries, which is today the largest UAN manufacturer in the world. Meanwhile, KEYTRADE has also exported sizable volumes of UAN solutions from CF Industries to Europe and Latin America, adding to its traditional trade activities in Eastern Europe, Egypt and the Former Soviet Union. In this sense, UAN solutions have become a strategic product for KEYTRADE, introducing opportunities for growth worldwide.
