Commercial Manager - Specialty Fertilizers (Europe & Middle East)

KEYTRADE is looking for a Commercial Manager – Specialty Fertilizers

The Commercial Manager is responsible for the growth of current sales in the Specialty business in Europe, Middle East and nearby markets into an important profit center for the company. This will include all activities (planning and execution) related to the success and maximization of the financial and strategic value of the Specialty business unit to Keytrade. Critical to the role will be the understanding of agricultural markets, local demand, new technologies, and products in combination with the ability to show advanced strategic insights about the business and the specialty fertilizer industry. Internally, the Commercial Manager needs to demonstrate the ability to collaborate with other commercial leaders and the different departments (ie. Logistics, Finance, and Legal).

Position's Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development for the Specialty fertilizers business’ global strategy by monitoring day-to-day developments in Europe, Middle East and nearby markets and react timely and creatively to international and geopolitical developments

  • Design and implement sales/marketing policies, plans, programs and goals based on the identification of specific customer and market opportunities and a pricing strategy

  • Work in a collaborative manner with our subsidiaries, other members of the company’s team to optimize relationships, manage risk appropriately and capture related opportunities

  • Identify and develop opportunities for strategic alliances and investments and acquisition opportunities with producers, importers, distributors and consumers

  • Develop partnership agreements and/or contracts with new and existing customers

  • Liaise and coordinate sales/purchase between suppliers and customers, negotiate and secure best price, ensure smooth delivery and timely settlement of payments

  • Assist in forecasting market direction of various products by providing timely inputs for supply/demand analysis and regular daily updates covering short-and long-term developments within the region

  • Make recommendations for taking long/short positions

  • Communicate with logistics and back office colleagues to ensure smooth execution of contracts

Position's Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, agriculture or related field

  • Postgraduate degree in business administration, agriculture engineering or equivalent would be an asset

  • Experience in enhanced efficiency fertilizers, specialty fertilizers and bio stimulants would be highly considered

  • Experience in marketing and/or sales of branded products is preferred

  • The ideal candidate must be flexible, commercially oriented, analytic and able to be an entrepreneur

  • Good communication & social skills and an outgoing personality

  • A data-driven, analytical, and action-oriented mindset

  • Exceptional organizational skills are required

  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally

  • Managing change through ambiguity in a traditional environment.

  • Fluent in English (written & spoken) – any additional language is a plus
